Happy Release Day to Amanda Havard for The Survivors: Body & Blood

Happy book birthday to my friend, Amanda Havard and her latest release, The Survivors: Body & Blood. I'm so excited to be part of the release day festivities. Anyone reading this should be happy too because Amanda is giving away some incredible prizes.

First, the grand prize because I like to eat my dessert first. You can win a 16GB iPad 2 that is preloaded with all three books in the Survivor Series, The Immersedition (an interactive reading app that Amanda herself invented), the complete soundtracks for each book (that once again Amanda wrote and performs), music videos and other exclusive content from Amanda Havard. Holy Batman tights that's a mouthful of goodies. The Runner-up prize is a complete autographed set of The Survivor Series.

See what I mean. You have go to be excited. First things first though. Go buy The Survivors: Body & Blood. It's a great read.

If this is your first look at The Survivor Series, you are also in luck because book one is free for a limited time. Click here to get your copy

The Rafflecopter for the giveaways is below. On your way down you can read the synopsis for Body & Blood, info on the soundtrack and even a little about Amanda. Good luck.

How many answers you seek are just a part of you, waiting to be found?

The game has changed.

Fresh from her first brush with mortality, a fragile Sadie Matthau is playing human with Cole Hardwick while the Survivors endure unimaginable tragedy. Wrought with the first deaths of their own kind, a tyrant who will torture them, and an opponent more terrifying than anyone could have foreseen, the Survivors are facing their end.

Told from three points of view, The Survivors: Body & Blood is a bloodcurdling, mind-bending, heart-stopping ride. As Sadie and the Winters uncover more enemies, more history, and more answers, they find themselves brought closer together and ripped further apart. And all the while, a haunting Alexander Raven lurks at the edge of Sadie s lifeline, at the darkening fringes of her mind.

As the Survivors descend into chaos, Sadie realizes a painful truth: the deepest of secrets leave the darkest of marks.

Caught between a terrifying fantasy and her own grim reality, Body & Blood is the story of Sadie s dance with her demons, future, past, and present.

Amanda Havard thinks in stories. She writes books and songs, tells stories to people over coffee or in elaborate iPad apps, in short films or subtle photographs. Stories are her life. THE SURVIVORS: BODY & BLOOD is her third novel, and is an amalgamation of all of her storytelling love combined. Originally from Dallas, Texas, she now lives in Nashville, Tennessee, a place where creativity drips from the sap of the trees, radiates from the attitude of the population, and seeps from the concrete. The inventor of the Immersedition™ interactive book app, Havard is always looking for the next best story-- and the most innovative way to tell it.

The Body & Blood Soundtrack Sessions follow Amanda Havard as she talks about each song found on the soundtrack for the third book in THE SURVIVORS SERIES, Body & Blood, and performs exclusive acoustic versions of each song. Want more Survivors soundtrack music? Check out the rest of the B&B Sessions, the original songs written exclusively for the series, and the full soundtrack!

Reminiscing about UtopYA 2013

UtopYA 2013 ended two days ago and I still feel like I'm riding high on a happy endorphin roller-coaster. My voice hasn't returned to normal from all the screaming and laughing, but it's all good, talking is overrated anyway, right? Sitting here now in my office reminiscing about the weekend made it easy for me to pinpoint why UtopYA is such a special event--camaraderie. Usually, book events, conventions, and personal appearances are about selling books and promoting yourself. It's a necessary part of the business, I get that, but UtopYA is different.

This event is about hanging out, meeting in person all the special people that you only knew in the social media universe, seeing old friends, meeting new friends, sharing ideas and genuinely supporting each other. You'll definitely learn something because the panels are amazing and you will most likely even have a fangirl moment or two like I did. I certainly can't speak for everyone that attended (not that I can speak at the moment anyway), but I suspect their sentiments would be the same. Don't miss your chance to attend next year. As a matter of fact, buy your tickets here UtopYA 2014 tickets. In the meantime, here is a slideshow of some of my personal photos and special moments. BTW, it has music from Pitch Perfect. Don't judge. Enjoy.
